<p>Akkodis is seeking a Data Scientist for a Contract job with a client in Auburn Hills, MI. Candidates must have strong Data Science experience with expertise in exploratory analysis, machine learning, root-cause analytics, and hands-on work with Palantir Foundry and ideally Palantir AIP.</p> <p>Rate Range: $49 /hour to $53 /hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Data Scientist job responsibilities include:</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, anomalies, and underlying business drivers.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) to diagnose operational, performance, and business issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, time-series).</p> </li><li> <p>Build predictive and prescriptive analytics to support decision-making and optimization.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply statistical modeling, causal inference, and hypothesis testing to validate assumptions and explain outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct feature engineering, model evaluation, and tuning to ensure performance and interpretability.</p> </li><li> <p>Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments to measure impact and improve business outcomes.</p> </li></ul> <p>Secondary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Use Palantir Foundry for data integration, curation, modeling, and pipeline development.</p> </li><li> <p>Operationalize ML solutions using Foundry pipelines, ontology, and applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Leverage Palantir AIP for AI-enabled use cases such as decision-support tools, copilots, and LLM-assisted workflows.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns where appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with engineering/platform teams to deploy solutions with proper security and governance.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform RCA on data quality, model behavior, and workflow performance within Foundry/AIP.</p> </li><li> <p>Support customer adoption by explaining logic, assumptions, and outcomes in clear business language.</p> </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>10+ years of experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or Applied Machine Learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong hands-on experience in EDA, statistical modeling, and RCA.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Python and SQL.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with ML libraries such as Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch.</p> </li><li> <p>Solid understanding of statistics, probability, and experimental design.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with large-scale enterprise datasets.</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry; Palantir AIP experience strongly preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
