<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Assistant Dean of Students for Food Access Initiatives will focus primarily on Food Access Initiatives. This position oversees the full lifecycle of student engagement in the program, including recruitment, selection, intake, waitlist management, and ongoing support for students. The Assistant Dean plays a key role on the Market Food Access Leadership Team and works closely with the Market at Virginia Tech Manager. In addition to dedicated food access programming, this role also carries the generalist functions including non-clinical case management, crisis response, and participation in broader university initiatives.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related Human Services field. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in student support services, program development, or food access/basic needs initiatives. </li><li>Proven ability to manage complex intake and case management processes, preferably in a higher education setting. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. </li><li>Experience working with diverse student populations and collaborating across campus departments. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with food insecurity programs, emergency grant administration, or scholarship processes in higher education. </li><li>Familiarity with data-driven program assessment and evaluation techniques. </li><li>Prior experience in scaling service programs to meet increasing demand. </li></ul> <p>Overtime Status</p> <p>Exempt: Not eligible for overtime</p> <p>Appointment Type</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>65,000 - 72,500</p> <p>Hours per week</p> <p>40</p> <p>Review Date</p> <p>04/11/2025</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.</p> <p>About Virginia Tech</p> <p>Dedicated to its motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), Virginia Tech pushes the boundaries of knowledge by taking a hands-on, transdisciplinary approach to preparing scholars to be leaders and problem-solvers.
