Are you ready to go beyond?</p> <p>What Will Do You</p> <p>Hot Section Engineering (HSE) at Pratt & Whitney is looking for a motivated, ambitious individual to join our Hot Section Durability organization in our East Hartford, CT location. The Durability Discipline is highly specialized with particular focus on advanced cooling designs, aerodynamics, heat transfer, lifing, coatings, high-temperature aerospace alloys, and manufacturing. Durability Engineers are responsible for executing designs and thermal analyses of cooled and uncooled turbine airfoils and BOAS and performing life assessments of HPT hardware. These analyses are necessary to support the design, development, validation, production implementation and management of advanced and operational engines flying across the globe. Engineers will support engineering tasks for various Integrated Program Deployment (IPD) phases including concept initiation and optimization, preliminary and detailed design, verification and validation, and in-service support.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Mentor and technically guide a team of durability engineers in executing analyses to drive continuous improvement in durability part metrics and tools, leveraging advanced knowledge of durability processes utilizing ESW/EKS with moderate oversight. </li><li>Execute Durability tool and methodology development and validation for concept initiation and optimization (CI/CO) IPD phase. </li><li>Active and engaged participant in the Advanced Commercial Engine Program (ACEP) CIPT to support conceptual design analyses for our next generation engine family. </li><li>Timely communication of durability part/module status to job ticket requirements to durability management and CIPT leadership. </li><li>Develop and communicate technical reports to internal and external customers including CIPT, SIPT and MIPT </li><li>Perform heat transfer, fluid flow, thermal analyses and part life estimates for legacy commercial engine applications to support CI/CO studies. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications You Must Have</p> <ul> <li>BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) </li><li>5 years of engineering experience, 3 years with an advanced degree </li><li>U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems or sites. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications We Prefer</p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering </li><li>Concentration in Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics </li><li>Knowledge in Material Science, Statistics, Lifing and Weibull Analysis </li><li>Knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as, investment casting, laser and EDM hole drilling, airflow, metallic and ceramic coating, and ceramic matrix composite (CMC) processes. </li><li>Knowledge of airfoil lifing failure modes and mission life modeling for typical airfoil limiting modes such as oxidation, creep, corrosion and TMF </li><li>Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills </li></ul> <p>What We Offer:</p> <ul> <li>Benefits </li><li>Relocation assistance </li></ul> <p>Learn More & Apply Now!</p> <p>Hot Section Engineering (HSE)</p> <p>Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.</p> <p>Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.</p> <p>What is my role type?</p> <p>In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We've introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment.</p> <p>This role is:</p> <p>Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.</p> <p>Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.</p> <p>The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.</p> <p>Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
