<p>Job Description:</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>The Coordinator for Career Readiness Integration is responsible for facilitating, enhancing, and maintaining career readiness efforts across campus. The goal is to have career readiness integrated into the entire student life cycle. This person will also oversee internship opportunities for FSU students, regularly advise students on career topics, as well as oversee the Career Champion program.</p> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED:</p> <p>Director for Career Development</p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED:</p> <p>N/A</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Career Integration (50% of time)</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate yearly Career Readiness Faculty Institute in collaboration with the Mancuso Humanities Workforce Preparation Center. </li><li>Develop, maintain, and assess the Career Champion program, which includes teaching staff about career conversation, resources and embedding into their curriculum. </li><li>Work very closely with Colleges' Faculty Fellow Liaisons for Career Preparation for academic career-ready integration and experiential learning opportunities for all students. </li><li>Work with other offices on campus to provide resources about career readiness conversations, including but not limited to Academic Advising, co-curricular Admissions, and other engagement offices. </li><li>Coordinate classroom presentation requests, assign career staff for presentation, and maintain database of presentations. </li><li>Serve as primary Career Development liaison to student groups. </li><li>Maintain communication with faculty, Faculty Fellows, and Department Chairs to share Career Development updates and events. </li></ul> <p>Internship & Experiential Coordination - Specific Responsibilities (45% of time):</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and manage the State University Internship Incentive (SUII) program for the university, including marketing, processing applications, and data collection. </li><li>Administer internal internship funding, ensuring proper tracking, distribution, advertising, and communication campus partners </li><li>Oversee the management of "Submit an Experience" capabilities in Handshake to best track internship outcomes. </li><li>Regularly collect and maintain appropriate data related to internships (for credit, not for credit), and other experiential learning opportunities, such as student teaching assignments, department practicums, etc. presented through the university. </li><li>Utilize NACE and other professional associations to best understand national internship trends. </li><li>Work with Employer Engagement to promote internship opportunities and increase student knowledge on pathways to internship development </li></ul> <p>Career Counseling - Specific Responsibilities (5% of time):</p> <ul> <li>Provide individual career counseling with students (both undergraduate and graduate) and alumni of all interest areas, experience levels, and backgrounds </li><li>Assess student career interests and develop plans for implementing next steps in job, internship, and career search </li><li>Administer Strong Interest Inventory reports for students </li><li>Review and assist with editing resumes, cover letters, references, professional correspondence, graduate school application materials and other career-related documents through drop-ins </li><li>Assist with interview preparation and conduct evaluated mock interviews </li><li>Lead presentations and workshops on various career-related topics for specific classroom request and general student population </li><li>Assists with creating and implementing career-related events including but not limited to Career Fairs, Networking Events, and the Employer Showcase Series </li><li>Assist with Handshake job platform maintenance and understand how to effectively utilize the platform for student advising </li></ul> <p>General Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the hiring of professional, classified and student employees within the Center for Student Experience and Career Development </li><li>Maintain records to constantly evaluate programs and services to provide resource documents and data for year-end reports </li><li>Serve on Student Affairs and University-wide standing committees </li><li>Stay current on trends in higher education and career development through involvement in professional organizations, in-service training, and continued education </li><li>Work some evenings and weekend events in support of University and Departmental goals and functionality. </li><li>Contribute efforts to move the Center for Student Experience and Career Development to be anti-racist, including evaluating and updating policies and procedures </li><li>Designation as a Clery Campus Security Authority (CSA) </li><li>Accountable for ensuring that equal opportunity, equity, and inclusion are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Majority of work hours take place in an office environment requiring use of computer and telephone </li><li>Working both indoors and outdoors for certain events and activities, includes standing for periods of time, bending, crouching and any other body movements associated with event support </li><li>Some evening and weekend hours as events require </li><li>Some travel with student groups on buses, other provided transportation or own transportation needed </li><li>Remote work is allowed during low student presence time periods and when not needed for certain events, activities, and meetings </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree Required </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Attention to detail </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Personnel or related field, with graduate student experience. </li><li>2 years of successful professional level experience in a career services or academic counselor higher education setting. </li><li>Cultural competency, student development theory, and practice knowledge. </li><li>Familiarity with Handshake, Banner, and Microsoft Office suite. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) bargaining unit with a union title of Staff Assistant.
