With a school day that is 60 minutes longer than that of most traditional public schools, Mystic Valley provides the time, structure, and academic rigor necessary to support a world-class education.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>This is a dynamic opportunity for an educator who is passionate about history and committed to student achievement in a highly structured academic environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Deliver instruction in accordance with the Core Knowledge and International Baccalaureate (IB) frameworks</p> </li><li> <p>Teach five subject-area classes, each meeting daily, as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement clear, objective-based lessons and units of study</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing timely progress reports and report cards</p> </li><li> <p>Administer standardized assessments as directed by the History Department Chair and school leadership</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate regularly with colleagues and the History Department Chair to align curriculum, share best practices, and analyze student data</p> </li><li> <p>Uphold classroom management standards using the school's assertive discipline model</p> </li><li> <p>Attend all staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development</p> </li><li> <p>Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Assistant Director</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in History or a related field (required)</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication skills, both written and oral</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to assess student performance and communicate results effectively</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in data analysis and instructional decision-making</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, educational regulations, and school policies</p> </li><li> <p>Experience evaluating student progress and writing interpretive reports</p> </li><li> <p>Strong teaching, coaching, and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of history instruction best practices and related content-area requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop and deliver lessons aligned with school-wide objectives and student needs</p> </li></ul> <p>Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is an equal opportunity employer.
