<p>The Claims team is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst. This is a full-time, exempt position with a remote or hybrid work schedule seated in one of our Claims offices.</p> <p>POSITION OVERVIEW: Business Analysts are responsible for the collection, development, analysis, documentation, and communication of business needs and requirements. Throughout an assignment, Business Analysts may act like a liaison while they interface and work collaboratively with technology and business organizations. Business Analysts usually assess the needs of the assignment by directly interacting with management, leadership, technology, the business and the customer. Business Analysts are also expected to use their working understanding of information systems, business operations, and processes to analyze requirements, develop specifications, story-boarding and prototyping to facilitate the design of integrated solutions. Their knowledge of business analysis, business processes and project methodologies is applied to all of their assignments. Incumbents in this job family must have a solid understanding of their business partners existing business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business, and the short and long-term direction of the business and technology. They assess the needs of a business partner through direct interaction, and look for opportunities to develop and grow the business through effective use of technology. They take a broad perspective to determine how solutions will impact existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration. Incumbents must be innovative in identifying, proposing and executing solutions, negotiating requirements across multiple partners or departments, and must have an understanding of project scope management and prototyping. Business Analysts should have a high-level understanding of the overall IT architecture in order to understand the issues and implications of proposed system and hardware solutions.</p> <p>BUSINESS ANALYST II PROJECT COMPLEXITY:</p> <ul> <li>Performs work across multiple initiatives and processes. </li><li>Supports and/or leads highly complex business/technical processes or multiple products, requiring design or integration of technical solutions across multiple departments or lines of business. </li><li>Serves primarily as a subject matter expert and may leads projects of large scope and moderate to high complexity. </li><li>Works independently and leverages resources when needed. </li><li>Has an understanding of and an ability to apply knowledge of multiple technical business systems. </li></ul> <p>IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:</p> <ul> <li>Providing technical expertise across business functions, understanding the relationship between the business and the data and technology that support the business or product. </li><li>Responsible for managing the collection, analysis, documentation and coordination of multiple business and/or technical requirements which may include, but is not limited to: </li><li>Facilitating planning sessions with multiple business partners to improve business processes or products. </li><li>Involves using and improving information systems. </li><li>Establishing relationships with one or more business partners by demonstrating expert knowledge of business processes/drivers and technical systems, being proactive, and managing the development and implementation of innovative solutions. </li><li>Providing technical coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members. </li><li>Proactively researches and applies Best Practices to technology solutions for areas of expertise. </li><li>Acts as a resource to less experienced personnel in the application and execution of Best Practices. </li><li>Recommending improvements to Best Practices procedures. </li><li>Working with business partners to define needs to align with business priorities and assess impact on other business processes. </li><li>Leading requirements gathering sessions to identify and articulate needs/requirements i.e. JAD sessions, story-boarding. </li><li>Advising business partners on options, technical limitations, risks and cost vs. benefits and ensuring a structured requirements process for the business is adhered to. </li><li>Leading the development, of structured requirements gathering through various techniques i.e. JAD and storyboarding for the design and implementation of solutions. </li><li>Overseeing the documentation of requirements. </li><li>Participating in the development of prototypes. </li><li>May be accountable for a portion of a project plan in collaboration with project managers, from requirements phases through design, testing, implementation and maintenance. </li><li>Acts as a resource to less experienced personnel in developing and executing test/use cases. </li><li>Defining when to employ automation and determining impact. </li><li>Identifies, recommends and may approve improvements when appropriate. </li><li>Participates, facilitates and leads project meetings/sessions. </li><li>May act as a resource in the design, development, and execution of complex reports and/or report requirements. </li><li>Identifies and recommends improvements when appropriate. </li><li>May analyze and provide production support for more complex or escalated issues. </li><li>Partners with technology development to provide a solution. </li><li>Seeks guidance from more experienced resources when needed. </li><li>May provide support through the warranty period. </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:</p> <ul> <li>Typically requires seven to ten years of relevant technical and business work experience. </li><li>Requires /in-depth knowledge of business operations, requirements processing, business modeling concepts, information systems and project life-cycle knowledge, and business process development. </li><li>Knowledge of Industry Business Analysis Best Practices preferred. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in related field specialized training, certification or equivalent work experience. </li><li>Ability to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment. </li><li>Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. </li><li>Ability to travel as necessary. </li></ul> <p>This job posting provides cursory examples of some of the job duties associated with this position.
