This role is critical in ensuring effective instructional support for multilingual learners (MLLs), efficient scheduling, and accurate assessment practices. The teacher will serve as the primary liaison between the paraeducator, classroom teachers, and school administrators to support multilingual student success.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Paraeducator Oversight and Scheduling: </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and maintain a consistent, equitable schedule for the multilingual paraeducator across five schools based on student needs and enrollment.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate travel logistics and track mileage documentation for paraeducator reimbursement.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the point of contact for building administrators regarding paraeducator schedule and support.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet weekly to provide coaching, guidance, and professional support to ensure effective instructional assistance aligned to the needs of multilingual learners.</p> </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Instructional Content and Support: </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Collaborate to align instructional materials and strategies for MLLs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the paraeducator is equipped with appropriate content, activities, and scaffolded language support tools.</p> </li></ul> <p>Monitor and adjust instructional supports based on student progress and teacher feedback.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Assessment Coordination (LAS Links): </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Coordinate the LAS Links assessment process, including scheduling, test administration logistics, and training (if needed).</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all testing protocols are followed and completed within the state-mandated window.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee accurate data collection, secure storage of assessment materials, and timely submission.</p> </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Data Review and Instructional Planning: </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Analyze LAS Links and other language proficiency assessment data.</p> </li><li> <p>Support educators in using data to inform differentiated instruction and language development goals for MLLs.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide recommendations for instructional adjustments based on student performance trends and needs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Connecticut Teaching Certification (TESOL, Bilingual, WL or related endorsement preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience supporting multilingual learners and collaborating with paraeducators</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of LAS Links or other English language proficiency assessments</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently across multiple sites</p> </li></ul> <p>Reports To:</p> <p>Assistant Superintendent</p> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <p>To be determined based on district needs and funding availability (e.g., stipend or FTE allocation).</p>
