<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Core Molding Technologies is hiring a Senior Accountant to support corporate financial reporting, capital accounting, and audit processes across a multi-site manufacturing organization.</p> <p>In this role, you'll take ownership of fixed assets, tooling, and capital project accounting while partnering cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and plant teams. This is a high-impact role with visibility to leadership and opportunities to improve processes and reporting.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Own accounting and reporting for capital projects, tooling, and fixed assets (capitalization, amortization, impairments) </li><li>Maintain and ensure accuracy of the fixed asset and tooling subledger </li><li>Review and approve capital-related entries, ensuring proper classification between expense and capital </li><li>Partner with Engineering, Operations, and plant teams on project tracking, capitalization timing, and in-service dates </li><li>Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes </li><li>Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial analyses </li><li>Analyze capital spend, project performance, and financial impacts </li><li>Support external audits and act as a key contact for fixed assets, tooling, and insurance-related areas </li><li>Assist with SOX/internal controls and compliance with GAAP </li><li>Support income tax processes in coordination with external advisors </li><li>Drive process improvements in capital tracking, reporting, and systems </li><li>Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis for leadership </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting </li><li>4+ years of accounting experience </li><li>Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting </li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively across functions and levels </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>CPA or CPA track </li><li>Public accounting and/or public company experience </li><li>Experience with fixed assets, capital projects, or manufacturing environments </li><li>VBA or advanced Excel automation experience </li></ul> <p>Job Details</p> <ul> <li>Schedule: Monday to Friday </li><li>Travel: Up to 10% </li><li>Work Environment: Office with occasional plant exposure </li><li>Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us</p> <ul> <li>Competitive compensation </li><li>Full benefits package </li><li>401(k) with company match </li><li>Paid time off and holidays </li><li>Exposure to cross-functional leadership and strategic projects </li><li>Opportunity to drive process improvements in a growing organization </li></ul> <p>Recruiters</p> <p>We do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party agencies.</p>
