<p>The TTC Student Manager will be primarily responsible for the day to day operation of the Technical Training Center. Including but not limited to; managing TTC employees, creating and managing staff schedules, staff training and development, member management software maintenance, equipment maintenance, and group scheduling. Candidates must have a strong interest in rock climbing, experience working climbing systems, and great customer service. The manager will also be responsible for reviewing applications for TTC Attendants and assisting with interviewing and onboarding potential candidates.</p> <p>The Outdoor Program (OP) TTC has significant responsibilities beyond the Attendant position. This position requires previous experience (two full seasons) working for the Outdoor Program in the Attendant position. The manager will serve as a shift lead for all Attendant shifts during hours of operation. As shift lead, this person will be responsible for overseeing and directing logistics, customer service, groups, and mentoring new staff. This position will include increased decision-making and training responsibilities, including working closely with OP professional staff and student managers for organizing and running seasonal and bi-monthly trainings as needed. This position is expected to help improve efficiency and effectiveness at the program. As such, managers will be expected to take initiative in improving the program by presenting ideas and projects to coordinators, and to work towards implementing those specific projects. Individuals in this position are expected to know proper belay and tie-in technique using the figure eight follow through knot, lead clipping and climbing, and rappelling. Must have a firm understanding of all anchorable surfaces in facility and work at height experience, be self-motivated, and to have an expressed desire to contribute to the mission of the program.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>This position will accept internal applicants only. Applicants must show a strong commitment to the Outdoor Program and competency of all TTC operations. Will commit to about 20 hours a week in this position. American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and standard First Aid Certifications. Previous climbing experience is necessary. Familiarity in belaying, tie in knots, and general climbing equipment. Must attend all trainings Technical Training Center Employee Instructor trainings. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Ability to perform physical tasks in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Must possess a valid driver's license by start of program and have a good driving record.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Has completed the AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course and/or Exam and is maintain certification is preferred.</p> <p>Background Check? Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. , Ability to receive detailed information with or without assistance., Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Physical Requirements of this position Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Not required The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. The worker is frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia. , The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.</p>
