The CJS division is currently composed of five programs - Pretrial Release Supervision, Pretrial Intake, In-Home Detention, Community Service, and the Multiple Offender Program - and the CJS Case Services Specialist is the first point of contact for individuals seeking these services. Hiring range is $45,760 - $51,647 and benefits include access to the County's generous and affordable benefit plan.</p> <p>This is a paraprofessional position that provides administrative support to the case management unit and department operations. This position involves clerical tasks and direct contact with clients for file preparation, program assessment, and successful placement in our community. View the full Employee Benefits Guide</p> <p>View the full job description here</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)</p> <ul> <li>Answers telephone and greets the public, provides accurate program information, convey messages, and participate in the affective resolution of problems and complaints. </li><li>Utilizes and accesses the State of Colorado's database to follow and record next court date information and decipher disposition information for program enrollment. Performs complex clerical tasks: compiles, verifies, and maintains records on the Division's automated computer system. May process invoices and purchase orders associated with the programs operating out the Community Justice Service Department. </li><li>Maintains and is responsible for receiving and recording program fees associated with Pretrial Release Supervision, In-home Detention, DCMOP and Community Service programs. Maintains an accurate account of the Division's petty cash. </li><li>Interprets minute orders to accurately assess and setup pretrial release, DCMOP, community service and in-home detention clientele on the Division's automated computer system. Prepares physical files and initial paperwork for CJS Officers. </li><li>Receives referrals from the District/County courts, Probation Officers, and other criminal justice entities for defendants who are court ordered to complete community service hours. Interviews, screens, and places defendants in appropriate nonprofit agencies to complete their community service hours. </li><li>Maintains a caseload monitoring client performance with referral agency and prepares written reports indicating the client's compliance or noncompliance with the Useful Public Service / Alternative Services program. May assist Community Justice Services Officers with a variety of caseload management responsibilities. </li><li>May have increased responsibilities in case management and resolving system related problems and procedures. </li><li>Other duties as assigned, including: Respond to clients/community members requesting assistance in the front lobby. Participate in team meetings, trainings, outside meetings, and audits as requested. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required. An associate degree in a discipline that relates to the responsibilities assigned is preferred. </li><li>Two years of criminal justice experience preferred. </li><li>All prior administrative experience will be considered. </li><li>A combination of education and experience may be considered. </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish at an advanced level is preferred. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be a Notary Public or obtain certification within 30 days of hire. </li><li>This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Closing Date: 8/01/2025 5:59PM MST. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.</p>
