In order to achieve this exciting goal, we are committed to meeting our very strict quality and safety targets.</p> <p>The Sr EHS Manager will manage and build the environmental, health and safety programs, teams and culture for our NV Li-ion battery manufacturing processes. The Sr EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive EHS management systems to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace and drive a Safety-driven culture. This role involves providing leadership and technical expertise to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the PECNA organization. </li><li>Identifies and drives implementation of strategic EHS initiative and cross-functional, complex projects with large business impacts; identifies elements of change required to support the EHS strategy; balances short-term demands with long term benefits of strategic EHS initiatives. </li><li>Collaborate with all departments and stakeholders to ensure that EHS policies, programs, procedures and trainings are clearly defined and communicated and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and conformance with the company's EHS management system. </li><li>Oversee chemical management, hazardous material storage, hazardous waste, recycling, air compliance, permits and sustainability efforts. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS laws, regulations, and standards. Evaluate, advise, and stay current with emerging regulations and best practices. </li><li>Support or lead incident reporting and analyses to determine root cause(s), prevention, and corrective measures. Analyze incident trends to identify continuous improvement projects. </li><li>Coach and influence EHS team members and production safety teams(s) to achieve such goals with a High-Performance Safety Culture mindset. </li><li>Performs other duties as requested by management. </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. </li></ul> <p>The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job. It is intended to be an accurate reflection of the general nature and level of the job.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Requirements - Required and/or Preferred</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in environmental management, safety, business, engineering, or equivalent scientific field from four-year accredited College or University. </li><li>Master's degree from accredited College or University preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in EHS management with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs and initiatives. </li><li>5+ years of supervisory experience. </li><li>5-7 year work experience in Manufacturing or large scale operations preferred. </li></ul> <p>Essential Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations including but not limited EPA, RCRA, CWA, SWPPP, SPCC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, ANSI, etc. </li><li>Self-starter and results oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against production deadlines and goals. Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment. </li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to give formal presentations and communicate successfully with all levels of employees and management. </li><li>Ability to negotiate and build effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, both inside and outside of the company. </li><li>Demonstrated track record of successfully leading projects (achieving goals on time and within budget, attention to detail; strong documentation and reporting skills). </li><li>Possess analytical qualities to make sound decisions decision, through the conceptualization and evaluation of different courses of action to meet or exceed operational goals. </li><li>Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and 6S principles. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). </li><li>Proficient with EHS Management System software. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Certification(s):</p> <ul> <li>Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are highly desirable. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Physical Activities: (Percentage of time (equaling 100%) during the normal workday the employee is required to)</p> <ul> <li>Sit: 40% </li><li>Walk: 30% </li><li>Stand: 20% </li><li>Lift: 10% </li></ul> <p>Tools and/or Equipment: (Required frequency is: Not required (0%), Occasional (1-33%), Frequent (34-66%, Continuous (67-100%)</p> <ul> <li>Keyboard: Frequent </li><li>Office Equipment ( Fax, copier, 10 KEy): Frequent </li><li>Telephone: Frequent </li></ul> <p>Required Lifting and Carrying: Weight to be manually lifted each normal workday.
