<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Number 004163 Position Title Residence Life Coordinator - 004163 Division Student Affairs Department 230400 - Epsilon Dorm Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama, one year of residence hall, student affairs, or directly related experience, and possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</p> <p>This is a live-in position, with on-campus housing and meal plan provided by the University.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A master's degree is preferred.</p> <p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>The University of South Alabama's Housing department is seeking to hire a Residence Life Coordinator. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>These are the job duties required of the position.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Lives on campus in an apartment provided by the University. </li><li>Supervises Resident Assistants (RAs) and Desk Assistants. </li><li>Manages the daily operations of the assigned residential housing areas. </li><li>Coordinates and participates in recruitment, selection, training and evaluation of residential student staff. </li><li>Collaborates with housing functional areas in matters related to hall maintenance, room assignments, roommate conflicts, verification of occupancy, and hall/room damage issues. </li><li>Assesses student conduct cases and determines proper action. </li><li>Directs student staff and residents to proper authority when needed. </li><li>Provides leadership and direction for all aspects of community programming, including planning, community development, educational initiatives, budgeting, execution, and assessment of events held. </li><li>Serves on an emergency response on-call rotation to respond to and support student staff members through emergencies, urgent matters, and policy violations on campus in a timely manner. </li><li>Serves on or chairs department-wide committees and represents the department on campus-wide committees, as needed. </li><li>Serves as an advisor for student groups as necessary. </li><li>Provides basic resources and student referrals. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to report Title IX concerns and/or other issues as appropriate. </li><li>Informs the Associate Director of student concerns, crisis situations, and needed referrals promptly. </li><li>Prepares all reports and performs administrative tasks for a residential housing area. </li><li>Manages residential area community development and educational initiatives and related budgets. </li><li>Assesses and evaluates programs and services under one's responsibility and initiates improvements as appropriate. </li><li>Conducts staff meetings and meets with staff individually as needed to provide supervision, support, and guidance in their responsibilities and respective residence hall areas. </li><li>Responds to and resolves emergency and non-emergency situations by providing crisis intervention, conflict mediation, academic and general counseling, and resource referrals for residents and resident assistants. </li><li>Collaborates with faculty and staff to facilitate programming within the assigned residential area. </li><li>Considered essential personnel and requires the ability to remain or arrive on campus in the event of a critical time (i.e. hurricane, tornado, etc.) </li><li>Regular and prompt attendance. </li><li>Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required, including some evenings and weekends. </li><li>Related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Posting Information</p> <p>Number of Vacancies 1 Position End Date (if temporary) Job Open Date 02/11/2025 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicants Working Days Monday - Friday Working Hours 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Job Location Main Campus Full-time or Part-Time Full Time Regular or Temporary Regular</p>
