<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Title: General Maintenance/ Laborer - Bedford Campus (3 Vacancies)</p> <p>Unit: Part-Time Non-Unit</p> <p>Department: Facilities</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Facilities, Bedford Campus</p> <p>Date: May 21, 2025 (Update June 10, 2025)</p> <p>General Summary: Individuals in this position will complete janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, grounds keeping or maintenance tasks. There are two vacancies available on the Lowell Campus for part-time assistance in facilities operations.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Completes in-house demolition work </li><li>Cleans and maintains safe work areas </li><li>Loads, unloads, and cleans vehicles </li><li>Removes trash and recyclables </li><li>Paint and refresh spaces after construction </li><li>Operates motor vehicles </li><li>Assists craftspeople performing building and grounds maintenance </li><li>Sweeps floors and sidewalks, rakes leaves and operates grounds maintenance equipment </li><li>Maintains clean and safe work areas </li><li>Assist in beautification of campus grounds </li><li>Performs other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to understand and apply the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards and guidelines governing assigned unit activities. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. </li><li>Ability to climb and work on ladders and scaffolds. </li><li>Possession of a valid Driver's license </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salary: $17.94 per hour in accordance with the College's Part-Time Wage Schedule</p> <p>Location: Bedford campus with occasional travel to Lowell as needed.</p> <p>Hours: Not to exceed 20 hours per week; exact schedule to be determined upon hire with a 6:30am start time.</p> <p>Expected Start Date: August 2025</p> <p>Application Deadline: July 2, 2025</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>All applicants must apply online by submitting:</p> <ul> <li>Cover Letter </li><li>Resume </li><li>Names and contact information for three (3) professional references </li></ul> <p>Pre-Employment Requirements:</p> <p>The College will not sponsor applicants for work visas.</p> <p>All offers of employment at Middlesex Community College are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
