Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred, but not required for this position.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>Under the direction of the Clinical Team Manager, the Medical Assistant supports the patient centered medical home by actively participating in the interdisciplinary care team and assists providers in the delivery of primary care services.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>0-2 years of previous medical assisting experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to - successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above. </li></ul> <p>Bilingual (English and Spanish) desire but not required.</p> <ul> <li>Certification or registration preferred. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES</p> <ul> <li>Completion of a Medical Assisting program. </li><li>Previous experience in community health is preferred. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Complete chart preparation for each patient including review of population health management system, review and update incomplete orders and referrals, and gather other information that may be required. </li><li>Conduct Huddle on every patient prior to appointment and record in the EHR. </li><li>Manage clinic flow. </li><li>Greet patients with identified scripting, determine needs, and direct patients to the examining room. </li><li>Follow rooming procedure including asking about recent ER/Hospital visits, taking vital signs, reviewing medication list and due HEDIS or UDS measures, completing screening tests and health maintenance orders as identified in the chart preparation. </li></ul> <p>Record in the EHR.</p> <ul> <li>Assist team in defining and working to identified quality indicators, ie: HEDIS/UDS, North Star, PCI initiative, etc. </li><li>Prepare for and assist providers with examination and procedures and complete necessary cleanup. </li><li>Implement provider orders, i.e., blood draws, ECG's, labs, dressings, treatments, refills, etc. </li><li>Obtain lab specimens, performs tests, and documents results. </li><li>Prepare specimens for labeling and transportation, complete necessary forms as indicated, and arrange for transportation. </li><li>Carry out routine testing procedures, i.e., hearing and vision screening. </li><li>File patient information and assist with medical records responsibilities. </li><li>Manage telephone inquiries appropriately and carry out patient call backs as assigned. </li><li>Assist nurses and providers with incoming patient healthcare information. </li><li>Adhere to universal precautions and FHC policies. </li><li>Understand and adhere to FHC compliance standards as they appear in FHC Handbook, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. </li><li>Keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and FHC regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. </li><li>May be required to assist patient with using technology for other languages if applicable. </li><li>Operate aspects of vaccine management, specifically administration, storage and handling. </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS & PERKS</p> <ul> <li>Medical & Prescription Drug coverage </li><li>Dental coverage </li><li>Vision coverage </li><li>Short-term & Long-term Disability options </li><li>Group Life insurance </li><li>403b & 457b Retirement options </li><li>Onsite wellness program & fitness area </li><li>Paid Time Off </li><li>Holiday pay </li><li>Bi-lingual incentive program </li><li>Online employee discount program </li></ul>
