<p>The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking an Assistant Director of Academic and Global Programs. The Assistant Director will be tasked with a broad range of academic and global program management responsibilities, such as onboarding and student orientation coordination, curricular and co-curricular programming, on-site support, and engaging students and program community members from matriculation through graduation.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following key job functions</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Student Services - As the administrative program lead for various Master of Science degree programs, you will be the main point of contact for students, providing consistent support and guidance throughout their academic journey. This includes tracking student progress, conducting one-on-one advising sessions, and collaborating with academic directors and school partners. Additionally, you will coordinate with university and global partners to ensure high-quality educational experiences and manage travel logistics for global programs. </li><li>Academic Program Management - This role involves delivering academic and student support services for graduate and global programs, administering academic operations in collaboration with school and university partners, and managing academic systems including the online student portal, SIS, and LMS. Additionally, the role includes partnering with faculty for curriculum delivery, building and administering student surveys and program evaluations, coordinating with global partners, supporting faculty and staff travel planning for McIntire global programs, and managing budgets and reconciling expenses. </li><li>Student Programming and Event Planning - You will coordinate with faculty and staff to plan and support onboarding, orientation, community building, networking activities, and major events like graduation and end-of-year celebrations. It includes planning logistics for and executing in-person class days, student engagement activities, and networking events such as guest speakers, leadership exercises, and alumni panels. Additionally, the role involves developing and executing regular communications to share upcoming events and resources, advising student leadership and supporting their initiatives, and coordinating with internal partners and external vendors. This role will assist with and staff events and activities initiated by the Student Success Office and collaborate on admissions and recruitment efforts hosted during class sessions and at other program-related functions. </li></ul> <p>About the School: The University of Virginia is one of the highest-ranked public universities in the United States, and the McIntire School of Commerce (www.commerce.virginia.edu) awards a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, and Master of Science degrees in the Management of Information Technology, Business Analytics, Commerce, Accounting, and Global Commerce. The McIntire School is dedicated to educating and inspiring students to become visionary leaders who shape global business with integrity, purpose, intercultural fluency, and a fundamental understanding of how commerce can contribute to the common good for all.</p> <p>Minimum qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>2 years of related work experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in higher education, counseling, business, or related field </li><li>Experience with University student information systems or customer success platforms (e.g., SIS, Salesforce), learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Brightspace), and/or survey tools (e.g., MS Forms, Qualtrics) </li><li>Experience supporting global operations (e.g., r unning study abroad program, traveling with students and faculty, working with international students) </li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 and virtual meetings (e.g., Zoom, Teams) </li></ul> <p>The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of program constituents. They will be professionally adaptable, highly organized, and exhibit a strong, positive service orientation. The candidate will thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial environments. They will bring creativity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and technological proficiency.</p> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range: $55,000 - 62,000, commensurate with education and experience.</p> <p>Anticipated Start Date: July 28, 2025</p> <p>This is an Exempt level, benefited position. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas.</p> <p>This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and may include periodic travel to Northern Virginia and international locations to support students and engage with UVA colleagues and global partners.
