<p>Job Description:</p> <p>MIDDLETOWN PUBLIC SCHOOLS</p> <p>International Baccalaureate Primary Youth Program Facilitator</p> <p>Broad Function:</p> <p>The Primary Youth Program (PYP) Facilitator is a position of responsibility within the International Baccalaureate (IB) school. The position requires academic overview and implementation of the PYP curriculum K-5 and the IB philosophy across the school. The PYP Facilitator will develop expertise with the PYP program and coach teachers with PYP implementation in the school.</p> <p>The Primary Youth Program Facilitator, reporting to the principal of the school, is responsible for all IB administrative procedures and ensuring fidelity of implementation of the IB program. Additionally, the PYP Facilitator supports teachers by planning and providing professional development, participating on committees, curriculum planning, and assessment review.</p> <p>The PYP Facilitator has the following specific responsibilities. In addition, he/she is expected to undertake any other reasonable task assigned by the principal and to comply with all requirements of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) relating to the role of PYP Facilitator.</p> <p>Qualifications, Experience and Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A current CT elementary certificate (001,002,003,004,005,013) or other relevant CT K-12 teaching certification. </li><li>Minimum of four years of successful teaching experience in elementary education. </li><li>Familiarity with Common Core State Standards, Middletown curricular units, and current research-based best practices in teaching and assessment. </li><li>Demonstrated educational leadership skills and interest. </li><li>Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Peer coaching and instructional modeling experience. </li></ul>
