This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead change, drive progress, and leave a lasting legacy.</p> <p>HDR is looking for a Permitting Lead to join our North Carolina Water Business Group. This role may be based in any of the following HDR offices: Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Asheville. In this role, we'll count on you to:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with project managers and project teams to develop permitting strategies to ensure compliance and prompt approvals. </li><li>Participate in scope, schedule, and budget development for permitting phases of water and wastewater projects. </li><li>Take responsibility for performing complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures. </li><li>Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed. </li><li>Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects as needed. </li><li>Supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed. </li><li>Perform other duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience permitting water and wastewater projects through North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, federal agencies, and local authorities; local candidates are preferred </li><li>A minimum of 3 years' experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects </li><li>Master's Degree </li><li>LI-SM1 </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects</p> </li><li> <p>Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.</p> </li><li> <p>Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task</p> </li><li> <p>An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must</p> </li></ul> <p>What We Believe</p> <p>HDR is our company.
