<p>GIS Field Technician - Entry Level</p> <p>Location: Orlando, FL (90% Field-Based)</p> <p>Job Type: Full-Time</p> <p>Industry: Power Delivery / Utilities</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>Join our dynamic Pole Transfer/Joint Use Make Ready Team as a GIS Field Technician, where you'll play a vital role in supporting electric distribution projects across Central Florida. This is an excellent entry point into the power delivery industry, offering hands-on experience in GIS data collection and field design.</p> <p>You'll work primarily in the field (90% of the time), using advanced tools and software to collect and analyze spatial data. Your work will directly support environmental management, utility asset tracking, and infrastructure planning.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Collect GIS data in the field using proprietary software. </li><li>Measure utility-owned distribution lines and attachments using telescoping hasting sticks and digital tools. </li><li>Analyze spatial data and incorporate findings into reports and GIS databases. </li><li>Collaborate with users to define data needs and project requirements. </li><li>Travel throughout Central Florida, including occasional overnight stays and storm response deployments. </li></ul> <p>Must-Have Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Esri's ArcGIS suite or similar GIS software. </li><li>Strong general computer and early professional skills. </li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a rental car. </li><li>Comfortable working outdoors in varying field conditions for extended periods. </li><li>Ability to manage and operate a telescoping hasting stick. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in GIS, Engineering Technology, or related field. </li><li>Prior outdoor field experience (internships or academic projects count). </li><li>Familiarity with CAD or other design software. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Travel: Required throughout Central Florida; includes storm response work with potential weekend and 12+ hour shifts. </li><li>Experience Level: Entry Level </li><li>Top Skills: ArcGIS, Esri, Field Data Collection </li></ul> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>Submit your resume highlighting relevant GIS and field experience.
