Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.</p> <ul> <li>Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner </li><li>Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance </li><li>Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour </li><li>Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment </li><li>Grades and returns student work in a timely manner </li><li>Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course </li><li>Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the courseDesigns curriculum and a schedule of instruction </li></ul> <p>Maintains regular office hours</p> <p>Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom</p> <p>Maintain current knowledge and skills which may require earning and maintaining relevant industry-recognized certifications as supported by the College to ensure alignment with program accreditation standards and industry expectations.</p> <p>Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching</p> <p>Serves on college or department committees as needed</p> <p>Attends professional development opportunities when possible</p> <p>Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus</p> <p>Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate</p> <p>Participates in graduation exercises</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <p>Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning</p> <p>Be innovative, creative, motivated</p> <p>Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others</p> <p>Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently</p> <p>Good organizational skills</p> <p>Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as a Learning Management System.</p> <p>Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision</p> <p>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal</p> <p>Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Master's degree in computer science or a related field OR a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in computer science or a related field</p> <p>Two years' experience in computer programming concepts to include algorithm design, data abstraction and procedural programming</p> <p>Demonstrated experience with Java and C++ programming languages, or other object-oriented programming languages</p> <p>Preferences:</p> <p>Industry experience, coursework and/or industry certifications in multiple programming and coding languages</p> <p>Teaching experience with a learning management system.</p> <p>As an equal employment opportunity employer, Wake Tech values our workforce.
