<p>About the Role</p> <p>We are a 24/7/365 aluminum manufacturing facility producing aluminum slugs from start to finish-including melting, casting, coil preparation, stamping, annealing, blasting, packaging, and palletizing. We are seeking a Flexible Production Shift Manager who can step in and provide full leadership coverage for any shift when the primary Shift Manager is out. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about employee relations, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Leadership & Employee Relations </li><li>Lead and support production teams across any assigned shift. </li><li>Promote strong communication, teamwork, and accountability. </li><li>Address employee concerns and performance issues professionally. </li><li>Support new employee onboarding and cross-training. </li><li>Production Operations </li><li>Oversee daily activities across melting, casting, stamping, annealing, blasting, and packaging. </li><li>Monitor production performance to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets. </li><li>Respond to equipment issues and coordinate support when necessary. </li><li>Complete shift reports and ensure smooth handoff communication. </li><li>Safety & Compliance </li><li>Act as the on-shift safety leader-enforcing company and OSHA safety requirements. </li><li>Conduct safety observations and ensure proper PPE and LOTO procedures. </li><li>Participate in incident response and preliminary investigations. </li><li>Quality & Continuous Improvement </li><li>Maintain product quality standards across all production processes. </li><li>Identify improvement opportunities and support Lean/CI activities. </li><li>Help reduce downtime, scrap, and process variation through problem-solving. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Required </li><li>3+ years of manufacturing experience (metals or continuous-process preferred). </li><li>Prior leadership experience (Supervisor, Lead, or Manager). </li><li>Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours and cover multiple shifts. </li><li>Solid understanding of manufacturing safety practices. </li><li>Preferred </li><li>Experience in melting/casting, coil handling, metal stamping, or heat treatment. </li><li>Training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar programs. </li><li>Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Heavy industrial setting with heat, noise, machinery, and moving equipment. Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and other assigned gear.
