<p>Job Description:</p> <p>NEW HARTFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS JOB OPENING</p> <p>New Hartford Public Schools is seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Special Education Paraprofessional at New Hartford Public Schools 1.0 FTE.</p> <p>DUTIES INCLUDE:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in individual pupil instruction. </li><li>Assist teacher in maintaining discipline. </li><li>Assist teacher in data collection. </li><li>May escort child to and from various rooms. </li><li>Toileting may be required. </li><li>Regular attendance is required for this position. </li><li>Will involve work with special education student(s) under direction of a certified teacher. </li><li>This position will require CPI training to be provided by Student Services Department. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of basic computer technology is also necessary.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Two years of college credit OR hold an associate's (or higher) degree; OR successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple directions, short correspondence, and memos. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Effectively communicate with special education teachers.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY</p> <p>Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
