<p>UPMC Somerset Health Services is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join their team! This position supports the Somerset Family Practice Davidsville office. The Medical Assistant works Monday through Friday rating daylight hours between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (no holidays no weekends required). Candidates with prior Medical Assistant or vitals experience are strongly encouraged to apply! Whether you are a seasoned MA or in the early stages of your career, our career ladder allows you to grow and expand your knowledge!</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Check schedules and organize patient flow. </li><li>Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist as needed. </li><li>Collect patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings. </li><li>Relay instructions to patients and families. </li><li>Send and receive patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations. </li><li>Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments, and maintain cleanliness. </li><li>Manage inventory of supplies and restock exam/procedure rooms. </li><li>Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs. </li><li>Assist physicians with procedures and document patient information. </li><li>Answer calls and provide pertinent information, including patient education. </li></ul> <p>Medical Assistant</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent is required. </li><li>Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>To qualify for Medical Assistant, Senior candidate must also have one of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program </li><li>Equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT) </li><li>Successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA) </li><li>At least 1 year of patient care experience required. </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)</p> </li><li> <p>CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire</p> </li><li> <p>Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal</p> </li><li> <p>Act 33 with renewal</p> </li><li> <p>Act 34 with renewal</p> </li><li> <p>Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal</p> </li></ul> <p>UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran</p>
