Join our team! We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as the Department's Accountant 3. In this integral role, you will be at the heart of our fiscal operations</p> <p>Your Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide support, guidance and training to Accounting team members, including monitoring work, answering questions, providing backup coverage, and mediating conflicts related to claims processing. </li><li>Maintain advanced level knowledge of Department and Department of Administrative Services-State Accounting Enterprise (DAS-SAE) policies and procedures as well as the use and knowledge of the Iowa Advantage and Workday financial systems. </li><li>Interpret and ensure compliance with appropriate federal, state and departmental laws, rules and regulations and standards in the areas of budgeting, accounting and reporting. </li><li>Research and provide guidance related to accounting rules, policies, and procedures. Write and disseminate written instruction manuals, procedures, and other training material to help inform and update department staff on accounting policies and processes. </li><li>Gather data and develop reports as requested by legislators, department leaders, federal agencies, vendors, and other organizations. </li><li>Serve as the Department's liaison and point of contact for the ISD/IESBVI finance team. Oversee training and ensure Department and DAS-SAE policies and procedures are followed. Implement process improvements and standardization across Department processes and assist with budget balancing and reporting. </li><li>Ensure timely submission and Department compliance with recurring financial reports. </li><li>Analyze proposed legislation/policy revisions to assess finance and budgetary impact upon new or existing programs. </li><li>Lead E-rate filing for statewide digital data circuits.
