This position will be based in Ohio.</p> <p>In this hands-on, field-based role, you'll support customers by commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting power distribution and protection systems across a wide range of industrial environments. The role is highly travel-oriented and focused on medium- and high-impact field execution, with opportunities to work on both greenfield and brownfield projects nationwide. This position supports Siemens' Electrification Automation business and plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable system performance for our customers.</p> <p>You'll make a difference by:</p> <ul> <li>Installing, testing, commissioning, and starting up low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment (approximately 480V-38kV), including switchgear and breakers </li><li>Performing hands-on commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protection and control relays (e.g., SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC) </li><li>Using industry-standard test equipment and software (such as Omicron and Doble test sets, relay configuration and protection software) to validate system performance </li><li>Supporting greenfield and brownfield projects through commissioning, maintenance, emergency response, and corrective troubleshooting activities </li><li>Analyzing test results, assessing equipment condition, and documenting findings through clear, accurate field reports </li><li>Working directly with customers, partners, and internal teams to provide technical support, training, and consulting as needed </li><li>Traveling extensively to job sites across the U.S. to support field execution and project demands </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED required </li><li>4+ years of experience with the following: </li><li>Field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems </li><li>Protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC) and associated configuration software </li><li>Relay testing equipment such as Omicron and/or Doble test sets </li><li>Low- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and electrical control circuits </li><li>Interpreting test data, assessing equipment condition, and producing clear technical documentation </li><li>Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 80% domestically </li><li>Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field </li><li>Additional field service experience in transmission, distribution, or apparatus testing environments </li><li>Experience commissioning specific relay models (e.g., SEL 751 or similar), with detailed hands-on exposure </li><li>Knowledge of high-voltage and SF6 gas circuit breakers </li><li>Industry certifications or training such as NETA, NICET, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, MSHA 46/48, or TWIC card </li></ul> <p>About Siemens:</p> <p>We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
