<p>About the Organization:</p> <p>Founded in 2000 by Carl C. Icahn's Foundation for a Greater Opportunity, the first Icahn Charter School (Icahn Charter School 1) opened its doors in 2001. Over the years the school and its students experienced extraordinary academic achievement leading to our expansion within the school and a decision to scale into a network of schools. The Foundation for a Greater Opportunity is committed to improving education in New York City.</p> <p>The mission of Icahn Charter Schools is to cultivate a climate of collaborative excellence among students, staff, families, and the community. Our Four Pillars of Transformative Education guide Icahn educators as they adopt a holistic approach to teaching and learning that addresses the academic, social and emotional needs of our students. The student-centered learning experience is defined through individualized learning environments that empower Icahn students to take ownership of their education. Our Core Knowledge Curriculum and instructional practices promote learning through innovation and creativity to meet the needs of our diverse learners. Through strategic partnership among all stakeholders, Icahn students graduate equipped with the skills, knowledge and personal confidence to participate successfully in the most rigorous environments and demonstrate a sense of responsibility as global citizens.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Overseeing and fulfilling the requirements of the school's guidance program. </li><li>Analyzing student performance in class and identifying areas of need. </li><li>Getting to know students and their unique needs to offer specialized solutions. </li><li>Helping students to develop a plan for their academic career that corresponds with their skills and interests. </li><li>Hosting crisis intervention and prevention programs. </li><li>Facilitating communication between parents, Teachers, administrators and students about behavior and academic concerns. </li><li>Assist with school programs and events. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred </li><li>New York State certification in school counseling </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>A belief in and commitment to high levels of student achievement </li><li>A belief in and commitment to continuous professional learning and development. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Salary range: $71,027.00 - $81,956.00 </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package </li><li>10-month contracted position </li><li>Annual bonus </li></ul> <p>EEOC Statement: Icahn Charter Schools is an Equal Opportunity employer; all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, or protected veteran status.</p>
