The program coordinator will be responsible for management of personnel, program design, development and implementation, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Assists with providing financial aid, student advisement, counseling, registration, admissions, housing and other services to program students. The program coordinator reports to the Program Director. Position is contingent upon continued grant funding. Professional or personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to those facing project participants and experience with federal TRIO programs, academic support programs, or similar programs for disadvantaged students preferred.</p> <p>Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.</p> <p>Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Experience in the areas of personnel supervision and evaluation, budget development and monitoring expenditures, program development, and evaluation; and reporting and compliance with federal regulations.</p> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</p> <p>Experience with federal Trio programs, academic support programs, or similar programs for disadvantaged students. Recommends changes to policies and procedures to improve program services. Establishes policies and procedures in conjunction with institutional management. Develops long-range plans and objectives for program. Develops and maintains confidential records and reports with accurate documentation of student eligibility, program activity and academic results. Assists with inputting data into student database.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 35 Job Duty</p> <p>Recruits, processes applications, interviews and evaluates prospective high school student participants and their families, coaches and monitors the Upward Bound student participants and assists with the services resulting in their retention, academic success and high school graduation and preparing them for entry into post-secondary education.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty</p> <p>Advises and counsels students using services including, but not limited to: FAFSA and financial aid, admissions requirements, registration and course requirements, academic and vocational opportunities, housing contracts, other student activities and institutional policies and procedures. Conducts workshops on various topics to include resume writing, interview techniques, leadership development, and financial management, to improve academic performance, human development and career employability.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty</p> <p>Assists in the developing and monitoring of all budgetary matters, manages the program to be in fiscal and programmatic compliance with institution, the grant and federal policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation of the annual report for the U.S. Department of Education, as well as other periodically requested reports.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty</p> <p>Manages the program office including but not limited to: hiring, supervising, training and evaluating student services personnel, providing opportunity for staff development and professional involvement in Trio organizations. Works collaboratively with the local high school, participants, parents, community agencies, civic organizations, and local businesses.
