This position plays a vital role in educating entry-level nursing support caregivers by ensuring that they provide safe, high-quality patient care.</p> <p>This is an excellent opportunity for those who are adaptable and would like to advance their career growth opportunities within Cleveland Clinic. Within this role, there are many opportunities for NPDS Lead and Education Manager roles. There are also many opportunities to develop as an educator, particularly with the Essentials Program for Health Professions Educators.</p> <p>This position is a blended role, with 0.5 FTE serving as a Staff Nurse and 0.5 FTE serving as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) within the Main Campus Emergency Department. Candidates must possess strong emergency nursing skills and clinical expertise to support patient care in a fast-paced ED environment. Responsibilities will also include onboarding and supporting new hires through education, training and professional development initiatives.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works full-time| days| 7:00am-7:00pm.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design, direct, implement, and evaluate educational offerings based on knowledge, skills and learning levels of nursing staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify learning needs and desires of nursing personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and utilize appropriate evaluation systems to determine the effectiveness of educational activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Consult with individuals within the Nursing Institute and Ambulatory Nursing, CCF and the community regarding professional nursing practice and roles.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the development of department specific orientation and competencies. Assists departments in orientation of staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain a cataloging system for tracking and retrieval of all available teaching-learning resources.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)</p> </li><li> <p>Master's Degree in nursing with a non-nursing Bachelor's degree is acceptable</p> </li><li> <p>Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)</p> </li><li> <p>Two years recent nursing experience required with demonstrated clinical expertise to include clinical nursing experience, preceptor, BCLS or ACLS instructor</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated knowledge of education methodology such as needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design, and principles of adult learning</p> </li><li> <p>Someone who has worked with unlicensed caregivers in previous role(s)</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's Degree</p> </li><li> <p>Certification in specialty</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.</p> </li><li> <p>Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
