<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Campus Title: Assistant Professor</p> <p>State Job Title: Assistant Professor</p> <p>Department: Social Work</p> <p>Job Code: HA3200</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Funding: 7107-0029</p> <p>Bargaining Unit: MSCA</p> <p>Job Type: Full-Time Temporary, Benefited</p> <p>Timeframe: Academic Year</p> <p>Shift: Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm</p> <p>Regular Days Off: Saturday and Sunday</p> <p>Supervision Received: Reports directly to the chair of the Social Work Department</p> <p>Supervision Exercised: None</p> <p>Salary: $68,000-$71,000 (salary commensurate with education and experience)</p> <p>Westfield State University Department of Social Work is seeking applications for a full-time, one-year contract Assistant Professor of Social Work. The responsibilities for the position will include teaching Social Work at the graduate level and undergraduate level in the University's existing BSW and MSW programs. The program is looking for faculty with the ability to teach clinical practice and foundation MSW and BSW classes.</p> <p>The position includes a 24-credit teaching load annually, student advising, scholarship (work toward a doctoral degree is considered scholarship), and service to the University. The position will start September 1, 2026.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MSW </li><li>A minimum of two years post-masters direct practice experience </li><li>A DSW or PhD in Social Work or related social science field is preferred (ABD will be considered) </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies.
