<p>Job Title HR Coordinator - Benefits Location Hybrid - Dayton, OH Job Number 05297 Department Human Resources Job Category Support Job Type Full-Time Status Regular Job Open Date 08/14/2025 Resume Review Date 9/1/2025 Closing Date 09/01/2025 Open Until Filled No Position Summary</p> <p>The HR Coordinator - Benefits position assists the Benefits Administrator and coordinates employee benefits. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate the administration of all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, short-term disability, Flexible Spending Account and Health Savings Accounts, and Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Serve as a contact for all employees and benefit vendors </li><li>Assist the Benefits Administrator with the College's annual open enrollment process by planning and developing the logistics, creating employee materials, coordinating employee sessions and working with benefit vendors to ensure benefit information is accurate and timely </li><li>Coordinate the College's wellness program (LiveWell) </li><li>Assist with new hire enrollment, disability, life insurance, and FMLA processing </li><li>Maintain and cultivate relationships with retirement plan and insurance representatives </li><li>Assist with employee benefit presentations for new hire orientation, departmental meetings and other requests from the college </li><li>Meet with employees and supervisors to determine FMLA/ADA eligibility and regularly inform the Benefits Administrator and the Chief Human Resource Officer to make appropriate benefit related decisions </li><li>Assist with the administration of the college's tuition reimbursement/waiver program and coordination of any necessary paperwork for the Federal Forgiveness program </li><li>Closely work with insurance broker to attain information regarding employee benefit inquires, legislation and reference materials </li><li>Participate in special or periodic projects, programs, and surveys </li><li>Coordinate COBRA administration </li><li>Assist in the data compilation for the 1095 reporting process on behalf of the College </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in human resources, business, management, or related field preferred </li><li>Minimum of two years' professional work experience in Human Resources required </li><li>Current working knowledge of employee benefits administration and compliance preferred </li><li>Prior work experience in a higher educational institution preferred </li><li>Current working knowledge and application of the following: FMLA; ADA; ACAt; self-insured insurance and broad knowledge of employee benefits, i.e., medical, dental, life. LTD/STD, FSA, HSA preferred </li><li>Current working knowledge of 401k, 457, 403b, STRS, OPERS or other retirement plan administration preferred; specifically Ohio public college and university fiduciary responsibilities preferred </li><li>Current work experience and knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA and IRS regulations that pertain to tuition reimbursement preferred </li><li>High level skills in Microsoft Office program to include but not limited to: Excel; Outlook; Word; etc. required </li><li>Prior work experience with an HRIS database required; prior experience with Ellucian/Colleague preferred </li><li>Ability to perform mathematical calculations for compensation and leave required </li><li>Strong human relations skills, teamwork oriented, and customer-service skills required </li><li>Professional written/oral communication skills required </li><li>Ability to show compassion and understanding for employee situations while ensuring compliance with College policy and practice required </li><li>Ability to work on multiple tasks while providing attention to detail and meeting all prescribed deadlines required </li><li>Ability to maintain confidential information required </li></ul>
