<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Lead Faculty member will provide academic and administrative leadership for the NE/CNL track within the graduate nursing program. This position involves oversight of curriculum development and implementation, resource allocation, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals. The lead faculty member will also engage in teaching, mentorship, and collaborative decision-making to advance the track's objectives and support student success.</p> <p>This Lead Faculty member collaborates with Director of the School of Nursing, the Associate Director for Graduate Programs, course developers, the clinical placement team, and instructional designers to deliver dynamic synchronous and asynchronous courses and clinically focused preceptorships aligned with national accreditation standards, competencies, and the Norwich University mission and values.</p> <p>This is a full-time (1 FTE) faculty position requiring a total 12 credit load per semester, including teaching across 12 months per year. This is a staff position (12-month contract) with faculty rank. This role ensures the fulfillment of Norwich University's mission by supervising instruction and course development for the Nursing Education/Clinical Nurse Leader track. This track is offered through the Norwich University School of Nursing (NUSoN) in partnership with the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS).</p> <p>Salary: $90,000 or more depending on experience.</p> <p>This is a faculty ranked position.</p> <p>Hybrid/remote work schedule may be authorized, with travel to the Vermont campus required for specific events.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Teaching and Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Teach 9 credits per semester, ensuring quality instruction, curriculum rigor, and alignment with accreditation standards. </li><li>Provide leadership for curriculum planning and oversee specialty track-level curriculum development. </li><li>Oversee faculty instruction and education for NE/CNL students, ensuring alignment with program objectives and national standards. </li></ul> <p>Administrative Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Dedicate 3 credits per semester to administrative oversight of the population-focused track. </li><li>Review all proposed clinical placements for appropriateness. </li><li>Oversee track-specific accreditation compliance, ensuring that curriculum and program outcomes meet relevant standards. </li><li>Monitor track enrollment trends and provide recommendations for resource allocation to meet program needs. </li></ul> <p>Faculty and Student Management</p> <ul> <li>Supervise adjunct faculty and students in the track, providing mentorship and support. </li><li>Recruit, training, and supervise adjunct faculty. </li><li>Function as an essential team member with the assessment and evaluation of student outcomes, course objectives, and program effectiveness. </li><li>Review applications for the NE/CNL program track(s). </li></ul> <p>Curriculum Development and Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Lead the development, review, and revision of the track's curriculum, ensuring alignment with program outcomes, industry standards, and emerging trends in nursing practice. </li><li>Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to develop and refine course objectives, instructional materials, and assessment methods. </li><li>Ensure integration of interprofessional education and evidence-based practice into the track curriculum. </li></ul> <p>Program and Accreditation Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead NE/CNL track planning and evaluation processes. </li><li>Ensure the curriculum remains current, relevant, and aligned with NE/CNL competencies and accreditation standards. </li><li>Monitor and report on accreditation compliance and support the overall accreditation process for the MS in Nursing program. </li><li>Lead efforts to assess and evaluate student learning outcomes, track performance metrics, and implement data-driven improvements. </li><li>Conduct regular program reviews, identifying areas for growth and innovation. </li><li>Contribute to institutional and programmatic accreditation processes, including the preparation of self-study reports and participation in site visits. </li></ul> <p>Leadership and Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Act as a liaison between the population-focused track and broader program administration. </li><li>Participate in programmatic decision-making related to curriculum design, resource allocation, and strategic planning. </li><li>Serve on committees, such as the Program Evaluation Committee and/or Curriculum Committee, task forces, working groups, or other committees as assigned, contributing to the program's mission and goals. </li><li>Mentor faculty within the track, providing guidance on instructional strategies, professional development, and research opportunities. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions</p> <ul> <li>Provide regular feedback to direct reports to enhance their performance. </li><li>Communicate respectfully and professionally with faculty, students, and staff. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. </li><li>Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned. </li><li>Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software. </li><li>Speaks, reads, and writes in English. </li><li>Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device. </li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Position Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.</p> </li><li> <p>Certification: Active national board certification as a Nurse Educator</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure: Unencumbered RN/APRN licensure. Must have the ability to obtain licensure in any state needed by the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 2 years of experience as a nationally certified Nurse Educator or Certified Nurse Leader.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in program development, curriculum development, and program track management (preferred).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with online teaching and instructional technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge:</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of test blueprint development for board certification exams.</p> </li><li> <p>Skills:</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual team environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical and Environmental Conditions:</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 15 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Travel as needed for professional obligations and campus events.</p> </li><li> <p>Indoor work at a computer workstation with minimal exposure to noise, dust, and vibrations.</p> </li><li> <p>Work Schedule:</p> </li><li> <p>Full-time position: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.</p> </li><li> <p>Hybrid work schedule may be authorized, with travel to the Vermont campus required for specific events.</p> </li><li> <p>Essential Functions:</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfill a 12-credit teaching load per semester while supporting faculty and program needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure alignment with Norwich University's mission and the highest standards of academic and clinical excellence.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Norwich University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing a positive education and work environment that recognizes and respects the dignity of all students, faculty and staff.
