<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Hiring for two positions (Club Sports Coach, Men's Volleyball & Club Sports Coach, Women's Volleyball)</p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION</p> <p>Develop and supervise the Club Volleyball team in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulations of the governing bodies for Salve Regina University Rec Sports.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Instruct student-athletes in the rules, fundamentals, and team concepts of Volleyball. Provide team supervision at practices and competitions both on and off campus. </li><li>Develop and implement practices and competitions to provide a positive and competitive experience for players. </li><li>Manage a Fall and Spring season of approximately 6-8 weeks in length each semester. </li><li>Establish team rules and protocols and implement and enforce appropriately. </li><li>Maintain a roster that is as inclusive as possible without sacrificing the quality of the program or safety of the team members. </li><li>Build a network of college club programs and athletic contests that are an appropriate match for our team to compete against. </li><li>Inventory and monitor equipment and facility to ensure it is safe and maintained in its proper state. </li><li>Meet regularly with the Director of Recreation to evaluate roster, budget and schedule. </li><li>Monitor your Salve Regina University email account and respond to inquiries from prospective students in a timely manner. On occasion, represent the university and team at recruitment related events. </li><li>Adhere to the policies and guidelines set forth by the University and the Dean of Students department. </li><li>Abide by and enforce the rules and regulations of the Club Sport Conference and Competition agencies and venues. </li><li>Club sport coaches shall immediately advise the Director of Recreation if there is a reason to believe that violations have occurred or will occur in regard to sexual misconduct or harassment, hazing, or any other action or activity that could endanger the well-being of a team member. </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Assist with the team's annual campus wide event relating to their sport.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A passion for the university's work in creating a diverse and inclusive community is expected. </li><li>Must be a self-starter and problem solver. </li><li>Must have the ability to work independently. </li><li>Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback. </li><li>High School diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Valid Driver's license. </li><li>CPR/First Aid certification (required prior to first practice). </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Baccalaureate degree. </li><li>Competitive athletic experience. </li><li>Experience in mentoring high school and/or college students. </li><li>Coaching experience at the high school, club or college level. </li><li>Chauffer's license or willingness and ability to obtain equivalent endorsement. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salve Regina University strives to provide equal opportunity in employment and education to all employees, students and applicants.
