<p>Join Our Caring Team!</p> <p>We are a well-established primary care practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our mission of providing high-quality, patient-centered care. If you're organized, empathetic, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you!</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Check schedules and organize patient flow efficiently. </li><li>Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and exam preparation. </li><li>Collect patient information/history, take vitals, and perform screenings per provider guidelines. </li><li>Relay instructions to patients and families with clarity and compassion. </li><li>Send and receive patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations. </li><li>Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocols. </li><li>Clean exam/procedure rooms and equipment between visits to maintain infection control and perform scheduled cleaning and record-keeping. </li><li>Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs, along with clinic procedures as per policy. </li><li>Answer calls, providing pertinent information and patient education as directed. </li><li>Administer injectable medications and vaccines under the supervision of a physician. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a Medical Assistant program either through a school or on the job training. Experience with giving injections.</p> <p>Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8 am to 4:30 pm, Friday 7:30 to 3 pm (once trained will be put in a rotation for a late night until 5:30 to 6pm based on the provider schedule)</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:</p> <ul> <li>BLS required within 30 days of hire/transfer. </li><li>Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal </li><li>Act 33 with renewal </li><li>Act 34 with renewal </li><li>Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal </li></ul> <p>UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran</p>
