Our Visual & Performing Arts Department is forward-thinking and committed to continuous improvement. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their knowledge, expertise, and fresh ideas to the table.</p> <p>The ideal art instructor at Har-Bur Middle School is reflective in practice and actively seeks out colleagues to enhance student outcomes. They will provide an instructional program that will create learning opportunities where students can create, connect and evaluate artistic expression both intellectually and emotionally as expressed through human experience.</p> <p>Our team of arts specialists has the opportunity to meet during the day for Arts Department PLC, and there are several professional learning opportunities throughout the year. Come be a part of our amazing team!</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in a combination of the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>CT Endorsement 042 (Art, PK-12) </li><li>Knowledge of and experience teaching to the National Core Arts Standards. </li><li>Knowledge of current art instructional teaching methods and pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning. </li><li>Experience with 2D, 3D, mixed media, and digital photography techniques, to lead demonstration using standard and teacher-prepared instructional aids. </li><li>Conducts ongoing assessment of student skills and learning in artistic techniques and expression; modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.
