<p>Apply</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Perform set-up, adjustment and safe operation of cutting equipment. Prepare product to be packed, collated or bound, ensuring that all items produced meet customer specifications.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Set-up and adjust cutter machine in accordance with instructions and job requirements </li><li>Set-up automatic cutting programs manually into cutter machine </li><li>Operate cutter machine and ancillary equipment to cut material into desired dimensions </li><li>Evaluate and make decisions concerning quality of product while cutting </li><li>Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications </li><li>Keep accurate press sheet information with dates and counts </li><li>Monitor assigned machine during runs to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed </li><li>Perform routine maintenance, such as blade replacement, lubrication, and waxing </li><li>Notify supervision of mechanical/electrical problems and complete "Work Orders" for parts/repairs that require maintenance assistance </li><li>Prepare load flags on each outgoing load showing the next operation or destination </li><li>All other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Hours may vary depending on departmental staffing needs.</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) </li><li>1 - 3 years of previous cutting experience preferred </li><li>Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos </li><li>Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization </li><li>Ability to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problems </li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form </li><li>Ability to prevent errors and solve problems on all prepress machines </li><li>Must have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines </li><li>Be organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision </li><li>Zund operating experience is a plus </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Requirements described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p> <ul> <li>Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending </li><li>Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs </li><li>Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, and coordination </li><li>Requires near visual acuity </li><li>Requires working around and operating departmental equipment </li><li>Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility </li><li>Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances </li></ul> <p>Mittera is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
