This position will have a predominant focus on HVAC within the buildings and performing highly skilled technical trades work.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of 12th grade </li><li>Two years technical training in the field of expertise or five years equivalent experience in the technical trade </li><li>Possession of Refrigerant License as required for the individual trade position </li><li>Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License and a good driving record </li></ul> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Investigates, identifies malfunctions, makes corrective repairs of facility mechanical systems and properties including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, buildings, roofs, and electronic equipment </li><li>Performs preventative maintenance </li><li>Answers emergency calls to schools and other facilities used by Worthington Schools </li><li>Installs, repairs, and replaces all florescent, industrial and general lighting fixtures, bulbs and ballasts </li><li>Installs new conduit and panels to supply new or additional electrical service </li><li>Installs, adjusts, and repairs fire alarm system devices, programs clock and bell systems transformers, scoreboards (basketball and football), and HVAC systems </li><li>Installs and repairs exhaust fans, motors, pumps and electrical appliances </li><li>Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and/or maintains all types of environmental control devices (heating and cooling) </li><li>Reads blueprints and schematic diagrams to locate various installations </li><li>Instructs apprentices and/or other maintenance workers on work assignments and equipment operation </li><li>Changes programs and scheduling in room point settings in the ALC program </li><li>Verifies completion of work assignments </li><li>Maintains appropriate written records of work assignments </li><li>Operates a motor vehicle to reach various work sites </li><li>Maintains all safety certifications as required </li></ul> <p>Job Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, practices, and methods of maintenance, repair, and installation of the specific trade applicable </li><li>Ability to diagnose defects in equipment and to perform skilled work in their repair </li><li>Ability to use a computer and window based software applications </li><li>Ability to read schematic drawings </li><li>Ability to keep accurate records </li><li>Considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade </li><li>Ability to maneuver heavy weights and climb ladders and to perform heavy physical labor (for example: bend, twist, lift arms above head, etc.) </li><li>Skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment used in the trade </li><li>Skill in locating and adjusting defects in systems and equipment </li><li>Ability to make estimates of time and material </li><li>Ability to work from drawings and specifications and to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions </li><li>Ability to maintain insurability through district fleet policy </li><li>Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others </li><li>Salary Range $26.86/hr - $34.28/hr* </li><li>Medical, Dental, Vison Insurances; Life Insurance; Supplemental Insurances; HSA Account; SERS Retirement;paid holidays, vacation, personal and sick leave* </li></ul>
