<p>Schedule: 7 hours 7:15 am - 2:15 pm</p> <p>School year position</p> <p>Reports to: Teacher of Record, Principal & Director of Special Education</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>To assist the classroom teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups.</p> <p>Qualifications Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>2 years of college experience; or associates degree; or </li><li>Passed the ParaPro Assessment </li><li>Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes </li><li>Experience with Special Education Instruction, preferred </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher. </li><li>Assists teachers in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities. </li><li>Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher. </li><li>Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies and field trips. </li><li>Provides assistance and monitors progress of students receiving services. </li><li>Provides accommodations for students based on their IEPs. </li><li>Communicates with the general education teacher on any issues or special information about an individual student. </li><li>Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers. </li><li>Perform other duties as requested by the Teacher of Record. </li></ul> <p>Medical/dental/vision insurance, short term life insurance policy, retirement plan, paid time off.</p>
