<p>Purpose/Summary</p> <p>Provides Advanced Engineering Support to Manufacturing.</p> <p>Essential Duties/Responsibilities</p> <p>Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide support to the Business Unit Engineering & maintenance teams to assist with trouble shooting and elimination of chronic maintenance items.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans, designs and analyzes manufacturing processes for facility.</p> </li><li> <p>Maximizes efficiency by optimization of layout of equipment, workflow & assembly methods.</p> </li><li> <p>Determines the parts, equipment, tools and processes needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead continuous improvement projects in the following fields:</p> </li><li> <p>Equipment uptime</p> </li><li> <p>Changeover time reductions</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and manage improvement projects by doing the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Cost justify projects</p> </li><li> <p>Work with line support to implement project</p> </li><li> <p>Develop budget and ensure adherence to budget</p> </li><li> <p>Develop project timeline and ensure adherence to schedule</p> </li><li> <p>Develop, maintain, and improve production operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Since our business is going to change to meet the needs of our customers, you can expect, anticipate and assume your job will have changes.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)</p> <ul> <li>Requires Bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent work related experience in an applicable discipline of engineering. </li></ul> <p>Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Engineering Systems and Methods in Manufacturing. </li><li>Strong equipment troubleshooting skills. Electrical and Mechanical </li><li>Will act as a knowledge resource and guide for Engineering Technicians and Maintenance Technicians. </li><li>Working knowledge of PLC programming for the purpose of trouble shooting and process improvements. Mitsubishi and Siemens experience a plus </li><li>Experience with high volume operations. </li><li>Experience with designing part fixtures and tooling. </li><li>Basic knowledge of CAD software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar </li><li>Able to work with others in a team environment to achieve a common goal. </li><li>Able to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. </li><li>Proficient with MS Office products. </li><li>Experience in automotive industry, preferred. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>None</p> <p>Physical Demands/Environment</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk/move; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.</p>
