Some examples of subject matter the consultant will offer are business plan creation, fiscal management, obtaining financing, marketing, growth strategies, operations management, etc. The focus of this position is on the Hispanic/Latino small business community; the individual must be able to deliver services in both English and Spanish. The primary objective is to increase outreach and direct assistance that improves clients' access to capital, job creation and retention, business startups, and business growth.</p> <p>The Business Consultant is responsible for working with internal and external partners to develop an outreach strategy for the Hispanic entrepreneurial community that will build awareness of small business services, develop trust, and increase the number of Latino clients served. The business consultant must have a broad base of business knowledge, excellent research and analytical skills, be a creative thinker to assist with problem-solving, and have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously. Multi-county travel is required to serve the assigned area.</p> <p>Applicants for this position must have a good working knowledge of basic business tools to include financial analysis, business research, marketing, and accounting, and be proficient in the use of computers and MS Office. The primary duty is conducting private business consulting on a variety of topics to help entrepreneurs start and grow their companies. Subject matter ranges from general business knowledge, business planning, fiscal management and assistance with applying for financing, marketing planning/digital marketing strategies, sales/growth strategies, HR issues, etc. Individual also develops and conducts group training workshops/seminars on topics of interest or need to small business owners.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 60 Job Duty</p> <p>Community Outreach and Collaboration. The consultant is responsible for raising awareness of SC SBDC services available to the Hispanic community and generating new clients. This individual identifies key partners and develops collaborations that leverage resources in order to help small businesses succeed. Potential relationships include local and regional government agencies, economic development organizations, faith-based institutions, and private sector companies. Work will not be limited to clients of Hispanic origin but rather open to anyone who is seeking assistance.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty</p> <p>Advancement of the SC SBDC.
