<p>Kforce has a client in Sparks, NV that is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Program and debug structured text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Siemens TIA Portal and Omron Sysmac Studio) </li><li>Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces using Siemens WinCC/Proface/Weintek EasyBuilder and SCADA dashboards screens using Ignition </li><li>Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to perform processes such as material pick and place, dispense, roll to roll, welding, testing and material transport </li><li>Set up and tune servo drives and VFDs for fast and smooth operation </li><li>Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits </li><li>Design and implement control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment as per codes and standards </li><li>Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing </li><li>Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of automated manufacturing equipment </li><li>Develop & maintain proper documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required* AS or BS degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent - Majors in: Automation engineering, Controls and Computer Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering) </li><li>Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or 5+ years of experience in Control Systems Design and PLC, or equivalent </li><li>5+ years of advanced PLC programming knowledge on (Siemens, Omron preferred) </li><li>5+ years of professional controls engineering experience </li><li>Proficiency creating detailed electrical and fluid schematics in CAD (EPLAN preferred) </li><li>Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) programming skills </li><li>Siemens Omron experience as a primary requirement </li></ul>
