<p>Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Stage Technician with significant knowledge and experience in theatrical stage systems and operations.</p> <p>Work Hours:</p> <p>The position is expected to work an average of 20 hours per week throughout the year.  Outside of regularly scheduled days off, the selected candidate will be expected to work any call assigned, which will vary depending on scheduled events and operational needs.</p> <p>The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with small teams of additional stagehands or work alone with very little direct guidance. </li><li>Help in the safe installation, operation, and dismantling of equipment and materials as required by the client.  </li><li>Complete given assignments within the scope of stage operations with little to no direct guidance. </li><li>Maintain equipment in good working order which is relevant to the operations of the activities and staff they oversee and report back any issues to their supervisor so they can be dealt with in the appropriate manner. </li><li>Receive preference for some work calls pertaining to performance or operational areas within the MMCPA. </li><li>May be required to work outside of department and/or specific area of responsibility as needed. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency; 1 to 3 years' experience in theatrical lighting, sound, carpentry, rigging, and other associated entertainment/theatrical/presentation operations</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substitutedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Effective communication, attentiveness, listening to and interpreting of directions </li><li>Use basic hand tools and basic portable power tools as applicable </li><li>Organization and the ability to follow through on tasks </li><li>Basic math and measuring </li><li>Working quickly, often in proximity with other employees </li><li>Attention to the surrounding workspace and other employees </li><li>Work effectively at height or in low light situations </li><li>Coordinating and collaborating work with other employees </li><li>Attention to deadlines in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. </li></ul> <p>ADA and Other Requirements:</p> <p>Work Environment and Physical Effort:</p> <p>Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</p> <p>Work Environment: </p> <p>Work is typically performed in an office or similar indoor environment or construction site. Employees may occasionally work in an outdoor environment or a confined space.</p> <p>Work Exposures: </p> <p>There is frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
