<p>Job Description - Speech Language Pathologist</p> <p>Qualifications: Indiana Teaching License in Speech Language</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Special Services or his/her designee</p> <p>Job Goal: To help reduce/eliminate/accommodate speech, language, and hearing disorders within the individual student's ability to derive full benefit from the corporations' educational program.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provides screening to identify possible speech and language impairments. Assists with the hearing screening process. </li><li>Provides assessment/diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing, auditory perception, and language impairments. </li><li>Compiles data on student's history: health, family, early developmental, and environmental as required for assessment. </li><li>Writes/implements the Individual Education Plan </li><li>Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of students with disabilities in the areas of speech, language, and hearing-impaired; cooperates with the classroom teachers and staff members to implement therapy via suggestions for the student's daily activities. </li><li>Maintains records and submits all required reports and documentation of students receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services. </li><li>Is a resource person to staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech and language impairments. </li><li>Assists/guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments. </li><li>Requisitions required supplies and maintains equipment and supplies. </li><li>Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech improvement. </li><li>Performs other reasonably-related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Services. </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <p>Days and salary established by the teacher's contract of the school corporation which employs the SLP.</p> <p>Evaluation:</p> <p>According to each school corporations' teacher contract policy.</p>
