For more information, visit www.emmanuel.edu.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The English, Writing, and Communication department is looking for an adjunct instructor to teach TWO SECTIONS of the following fall 2025 ENGL Course:</p> <p>ENGL1205 Introduction to Literary Methods</p> <p>This course introduces students to different modes of criticism used to analyze literary texts in the fields of English, American and World Literatures. Students will read at least two literary works through a variety of critical lenses, including but not limited to Rhetorical Criticism, Historicism, Psychoanalysis, Marxism, Cultural Studies, and Feminism. Learning how to read and interpret the complex interactions between literary and critical texts, students have the opportunity to interrogate the foundational assumptions of different critical paradigms and to understand what each analytical approach values and finds problematic about literary texts.</p> <p>Instructors will have discretion to adjust focus area(s) based on their area of expertise.</p> <p>Face-to-face synchronous courses (2 sections) meets M/W/F 10:00 AM - 10:50 AM AND T/Th 1:40 PM - 2:55 PM.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Candidates must have a Master's degree in a related field and and be able to demonstrate a record or promise of successful teaching at the college level, especially in the context of a diverse student community. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of and experience teaching or advanced study relevant to the course topic.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Emmanuel College values a welcoming and supportive community for all.
