<p>Nursing Simulation Lab Adjunct</p> <p>Salary - $46.00 per hour</p> <p>Purpose</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the Nursing Program Simulation Manager, the successful candidate will perform the following operations: Provide support for the simulation and skills laboratories; Engage in continuous professional development in both nursing and simulation; Participate in department activities, meetings, Accreditation and Board of Nursing compliance, and institutional activities; Maintain a safe working environment and conditions.</p> <p>This position is part time, up to 28 hours per week. Scheduled hours will fluctuate each semester based on course laboratory schedules and department needs.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide setup and takedown of planned simulations </li><li>Provide support during simulations, including operation of high-fidelity manikins and audio-visual and debriefing systems </li><li>Assist with equipment cleaning, maintenance, and updates </li><li>Prepare documents and supplies for planned simulations </li><li>Organize, maintain, and restock laboratory equipment and supplies </li><li>Assist with student orientation to the simulation equipment and environment </li><li>Troubleshoot equipment issues and contact vendor technology support as needed </li><li>Assist with setup and takedown of skills laboratories </li><li>Observe students while practicing skills during lab time </li><li>Participate in student skills check-offs </li><li>At all times maintains a safe working environment and conditions </li><li>Other job-related duties as required </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio </li><li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree </li><li>At least two years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse </li><li>Degree must be from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent as verified by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. </li><li>Previous healthcare simulation experience preferred </li><li>Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). </li><li>Willingness to learn and follow the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice </li><li>Strong technology skills including usage of PCs, MS Office, email, learning management system, audio-visual equipment, and simulation software </li><li>Physical ability to move simulation lab equipment weighing up to 40 lbs </li><li>Organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Interest in and commitment to the learner-centered educational process </li><li>Caring attitude toward students </li><li>Learning and self-motivation skills </li><li>Openness to suggestions for improvement </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Ability to work as a team member and independently </li><li>Ability to prioritize work </li><li>Behaves in accordance with Hocking College and Academic Affairs mission, goals, and values </li><li>Positive attitude </li><li>Knowledge of safe working conditions </li></ul>
