Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The section of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Research Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation and reporting activities of our research study. This candidate will support the PI and research team by maintaining human research protocols, managing study data, patient recruitment and communication with patients.</p> <ol> <li>Supervises research within the scope of established study protocol. Adheres to all human subject regulations as defined by Yale University and the federal government that pertain to research studies. 2. Responsible for reviewing, planning, and implementing study protocols and assessing the impact of program changes on research quality. Identifies and makes initial contact with potential funding sources to secure funds. 3. Oversees the planning of large multi-site or global studies. Establish goals and objectives, training requirements, productivity goals and financial parameters. Develops forms and questionnaires and manages the application of research techniques. 4. Works closely with research faculty and collaborators to identify quality and operational strategies and aspects of study that need to overcome. 5. Fosters and maintains cooperative relationships with principal investigators, collaborators, study coordinators, government officials, international partnerships, and study sponsors to ensure for the safe and timely progression of studies and adherence to all study/agency/government regulations. 6. Develops original HIC/IRB submissions for multi site research. Collaborate with various PI on major revisions and ensure changes are incorporated at each participating site. 7. Uses advanced statistical knowledge to provide support in managing and analyzing data. 8. Develops operational procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of statistical data. </li></ol> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Proven experience conducting and supporting all phases of clinical research, including data management and analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong project and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic data collection tools.</p> </li></ol> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Designs, plans, implements and evaluates complex, multifaceted research projects/systems, including method development, adaptation and validation. 2. Stays abreast of technological/scientific developments in the field and determine when to incorporate them into experimental plans. 3. Establishes policies and procedures for research projects. 4. Solves complex methodology, protocol, procedural and research problems through adapting new techniques that will achieve research goals. 5. Formulates and implements short and long-range goals for the operation of the lab. Sets priorities, assigns responsibilities, and establishes timelines. Projects future needs and formulates operational strategies consistent with projects. 6. Manages a research facility determining appropriate scientific techniques, equipment and administrative procedures. Supervises exempt and non-exempt staff. 7. Coordinates major lab renovations working with Facilities, Health and Safety, and Purchasing to ensure deadlines, safety standards and purchases are according to plans and within budgets. 8. Investigates, analyzes and evaluates complex data, specialized data collection systems and methods to reach scientific conclusions and ensure the integrity of research data. 9. Authors articles for research publications and professional journals. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.
