We're looking for a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Compensation & Benefits to lead the design and delivery of total rewards programs that support the wellbeing, growth, and success of our team members and their families.</p> <p>This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll shape how we attract, retain, and reward top talent-while aligning with our mission to improve the health of our community.</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>As the Director of Compensation & Benefits, you will lead the strategy, design, and administration of our total rewards programs-including compensation, health and wellness benefits, retirement, and leave programs. You'll partner closely with senior leadership to ensure our offerings are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Lead Total Rewards Strategy</p> <ul> <li>Design and oversee compensation programs including base pay, incentives, and bonuses </li><li>Lead job architecture, leveling, and market pricing initiatives </li><li>Partner with executive leaders on workforce planning and financial modeling </li></ul> <p>Shape Best-in-Class Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Develop and manage health, retirement, wellness, and leave programs </li><li>Evaluate and manage vendors, brokers, and contracts </li><li>Drive employee engagement through clear benefits communication and education </li></ul> <p>Ensure Compliance & Governance</p> <ul> <li>Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (FLSA, ERISA, ACA, etc.) </li><li>Partner with Legal and Compliance on audits, reporting, and governance frameworks </li></ul> <p>Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team</p> <ul> <li>Mentor and grow a team of compensation and benefits professionals </li><li>Serve as a trusted advisor to HR business partners and senior leadership </li></ul> <p>Leverage Data & Insights</p> <ul> <li>Use HRIS and analytics to guide decision-making </li><li>Deliver executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations </li></ul> <p>Drive Innovation & Wellbeing</p> <ul> <li>Build a holistic health and wellbeing strategy for team members and families </li><li>Stay ahead of market trends, legislation, and emerging practices </li><li>Measure program effectiveness and continuously improve outcomes </li></ul> <p>What You Bring</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field (master's preferred) </li><li>8+ years of progressive compensation and benefits experience </li><li>Healthcare experience (hospital, health system, or medical group) preferred </li><li>Professional certifications such as CCP, CBP, CEBS, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP are a plus </li></ul> <p>Key Strengths:</p> <ul> <li>Strategic thinker with strong execution skills </li><li>Data-driven mindset with the ability to influence at the executive level </li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills </li><li>Ability to balance big-picture strategy with attention to detail </li></ul> <p>Why Meritus?</p> <ul> <li>Mission-driven organization focused on community health </li><li>Opportunity to shape enterprise-wide strategy and impact thousands of team members </li><li>Collaborative leadership environment with strong executive partnership </li><li>Commitment to employee wellbeing-physically, emotionally, and financially </li></ul>
