<p>Position Description</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Elementary Principal</p> <p>FLSA: Exempt</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper state certification</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Superintendent</p> <p>Position Overview: Berryville Elementary School Principal</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced and dynamic instructional leader who is passionate about fostering academic excellence and nurturing a positive, inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and demonstrate a commitment to collaborative practices that enhance teaching, learning, and school culture. As the school's educational leader, you will be responsible for leading the school's academic and operational functions while cultivating a culture of continuous improvement through the PLC process.</p> <p>240 day contract</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Leadership and School Culture: </li><li>Foster a positive, collaborative, and student-centered school culture that promotes high standards of academic achievement and character development. </li><li>Create a supportive environment where teachers and staff feel valued, motivated, and inspired to implement best practices in instruction. </li><li>Set clear goals and priorities aligned with the school's mission and vision. </li><li>Professional Learning Communities (PLCs): </li><li>Lead and support the implementation of the Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) process to enhance teacher collaboration and instructional practices. </li><li>Facilitate team meetings to ensure ongoing professional development, data analysis, and effective problem-solving to improve student outcomes. </li><li>Guide teachers in setting student achievement goals, using data to inform instruction, and engaging in reflective practices to improve their teaching strategies. </li><li>Ensure that teachers and staff work together to establish and maintain high expectations for student learning. </li><li>Curriculum and Instruction: </li><li>Oversee the development, alignment, and implementation of a rigorous curriculum that meets the needs of all students. </li><li>Collaborate with instructional leaders to ensure instructional practices are evidence-based and aligned with district standards. </li><li>Provide ongoing support for teachers in the areas of classroom management, differentiation, and effective assessment practices. </li><li>Data-Driven Decision Making: </li><li>Utilize student performance data to guide instructional practices, identify gaps, and track student progress. </li><li>Lead the school's data review process, supporting staff in analyzing and interpreting data to inform decision-making. </li><li>Provide leadership in setting and reviewing student achievement goals to track progress and adjust strategies. </li><li>Professional Development: </li><li>Develop and implement a professional development plan that enhances teacher skills, supports the PLC process, and drives continuous improvement. </li><li>Promote a culture of lifelong learning for both staff and students. </li><li>Encourage and model lifelong learning and professional growth through the use of peer coaching, mentoring, and targeted professional development opportunities. </li><li>Staff Development and Supervision: </li><li>Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing regular feedback and support for professional growth. </li><li>Lead and support a collaborative, high-performance team of educators. </li><li>Foster a collaborative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. </li><li>School Operations and Management: </li><li>Oversee the daily operations of the school, ensuring smooth functioning of all activities. </li><li>Manage budgets, resources, and staff schedules efficiently to meet the needs of students and teachers. </li><li>Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations. </li><li>Community and Stakeholder Engagement: </li><li>Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the broader community to support school goals and student achievement. </li><li>Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, sharing information about school goals, progress, and challenges. </li><li>Cultivate a climate of transparency, trust, and shared responsibility for the success of all students. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: </li><li>Master's degree in Educational Leadership/Administration. </li><li>Valid Arkansas state certification as a school principal. </li><li>Experience: </li><li>Proven experience in leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and utilizing collaborative frameworks to improve instructional practices and student outcomes is preferred. </li><li>Experience in using data to drive instructional decisions and track progress toward school goals. </li><li>Skills and Abilities: </li><li>Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of the PLC process and its application in fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. </li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform instructional practices and school decision-making. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations effectively. </li><li>Additional Requirements: </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and community members. </li><li>Commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable learning environment. </li></ul>
