<p>This full time, 11 month position serves income-eligible, first generation college students and students with disabilities who attend SUNY Adirondack, through regular contact and support as part of a federally funded grant program. Supports the Director of TRIO Programs in the implementation, coordination and delivery of all program activities and services.</p> <p>Coordinates and conducts regular academic year meetings with SSS student participants to assess academic progress, provide effective student services, increase student motivation and make referrals to appropriate campus resources.</p> <ul> <li>Provides advising, mentoring, college transition, transfer services and academic support activities. </li><li>Provides individual career, group and educational advising services to TRIO SSS participants and their families. </li><li>Make referrals to academic support services, tracks student's participation in academic support services (i.e. Supplemental Instructions in Math, Math tutoring, Reading and Writing tutoring, discipline based tutoring), supports students with disabilities and identifies ways to encourage students to increase utilization of academic support services. </li><li>Monitor student progress and advise the Director on interventions for students. </li><li>Participates in all SSS group activities that are intended to increase motivation, improve transition to college and build the strength of the SSS class cohorts, including college transfer visits, cultural events and relevant workshops to SSS participants. </li><li>Collaborates with Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Success and other campus offices to encourage SSS student's persistence and success. </li><li>Assist in the selection of curriculum and advising materials. </li><li>Maintain documentation as mandated by the Department of Education on the program's BLUMEN database. </li><li>Supports the Director of TRIO Programs in maintaining program records in compliance with the U.S. Department of Education. </li><li>Occasional transportation of program participants in a SUNY Adirondack vehicle. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Evidence of sensitivity when working with students and staff of diverse racial, ethnic, academic and socio economic backgrounds, sexual orientation and disabilities by showing respect for difference and the dignity of others.
