No phone calls please.</p> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates Leadership </li><li>Demonstrates Learner Agency </li><li>Humanities and/or STEM background </li></ul> <p>Summary:</p> <ul> <li>The Milford Public Schools is looking for Elementary Instructional Coaches with expertise in the areas of Humanities (Literacy, Social Studies, EL), to work directly with students and staff to effectively implement Milford's model of High Quality Instruction, design and deliver intentional instruction aligned to an accelerative approach , and actively collaborate with classroom teachers around student growth toward the Vision of a Learner. The educators in this position have an understanding of the Developmental Relationship Framework and therefore utilize a collaborative approach in supporting learning for students and adults. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Works directly with students and staff to effectively implement Milford's model of High Quality Instruction. </li><li>Serves with other members of the building based HQI leadership team </li><li>Engages in collaborative cycles with teachers which focus on curriculum implementation, discipline specific learning progressions, or instructional practice (HQI). The Instructional Coach role within a collaboration cycle may include but is not limited to: in class modeling, side by side teaching, data and student work analysis, curricular unpacking, and facilitating collaborative conversations around assessment data, student work, and instructional practice. </li><li>Provides direct support/instruction to students in alignment with the district's strategy of acceleration and has expertise in the area of foundational skills and learning progressions. </li><li>Collaborates with instructional supervisors, building administrators, other coaches, and STEM educators around building and system wide strategic planning to ensure coherence and alignment </li><li>Facilitates/participates in lab sites both within the building and across the district </li><li>Works collaboratively with the SRBI team to support students through acceleration in all settings </li><li>Analyzes student assessment data to inform curricular and instructional decisions both at the building level and systemwide </li><li>Uses educational technology and digital tools in order to enhance instruction when appropriate </li><li>Attends, shares and actively participates in professional learning opportunities, as well as stays abreast of relevant research, as appropriate in order to stay current in all areas related to elementary STEM/Humanities, and instructional practice (HQI). </li><li>Provides building and district based professional learning to teachers and administrators in relation to humanities and STEM content as well as the district's model of High Quality Instruction </li><li>Unpacks curricular units with building and district based teams of teachers </li><li>Participates in curriculum writing and revision process </li><li>Ensures consistent implementation of curriculum across all PK-5 classes </li><li>Provides opportunities for family engagement in STEM/Humanities (i.e. Family Nights) </li><li>Maintains confidentiality regarding staff, student, and family information. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by building administrator or Instructional Supervisor </li></ul> <p>Certifications Required:</p> <p>Minimum Requirement of Elementary Certification (endorsements 001, 003, 013, 305) or Reading and Language Arts Consultant (endorsement 097) or Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts (endorsement 102)</p> <p>Certification/Qualifications Preferred:</p> <p>Reading and Language Arts Consultant (endorsement 097), Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts (endorsement 102), Deep knowledge of elementary math pedagogy, knowledge of elementary STEM</p>
