<p>Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / Psychiatrist</p> <ul> <li>Location: Onsite, Roxbury MA </li><li>Compensation: $85/hr </li></ul> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist to provide high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care. This role supports clinical operations on an as-needed basis, delivering psychiatric evaluation, supervision to newly practicing providers, medication management, and collaborative care across diverse patient populations.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is flexible, clinically strong, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments while maintaining a trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approach.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Clinical Care</p> <ul> <li>Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and risk evaluations </li><li>Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, as appropriate </li><li>Provide medication management, including prescribing, adjusting, and monitoring psychotropic medications </li><li>Manage acute and chronic mental health conditions across the adult lifespan </li><li>Assess and manage crisis situations, including suicide risk and psychiatric decompensation </li><li>Provide brief therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Care Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapists, social workers, nurses, addiction medicine and primary care providers </li><li>Participate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and care coordination activities when appropriate </li><li>Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers when appropriate </li><li>Ensure smooth transitions of care and appropriate follow-up </li></ul> <p>Documentation & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) </li><li>Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulatory, licensing, and organizational standards </li><li>Ensure compliance with state and federal prescribing guidelines </li></ul> <p>Quality & Safety</p> <ul> <li>Follow evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines </li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed </li><li>Promote a culture of safety, equity, and patient-centered care </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)</p> <ul> <li>Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing </li><li>Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) </li><li>Active, unrestricted state licensure </li><li>DEA registration (and controlled substance license as applicable) </li><li>Independently licensed </li></ul> <p>For Psychiatrist</p> <ul> <li>MD or DO degree from an accredited institution </li><li>Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry </li><li>Active, unrestricted medical license </li><li>DEA registration </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 25 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferred </li><li>Experience in outpatient, inpatient, crisis, or community mental health settings is a plus </li><li>Experience with diverse or underserved populations strongly preferred </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <p>Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work independently and adapt to varying clinical environments </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Cultural humility and commitment to equitable care </li><li>Comfort with fast-paced, high-acuity settings (if applicable) </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Per diem/as-needed basis </li><li>Flexible scheduling, including potential evenings, weekends, or holiday coverage </li><li>This position is hybrid-onsite or remote telehealth </li></ul> <p>Physical & Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>May include outpatient clinics, hospitals, telehealth, or community-based settings </li><li>Ability to sit, stand, and engage with patients for extended periods </li><li>Occasional exposure to high-stress or crisis situations </li></ul>
