<p>Overview</p> <p>Select Medical Neuro Transitional Care Center</p> <p>Position: Recreational Therapist</p> <p>Location: Harrisburg, PA</p> <p>Schedule: Part Time</p> <p>Our Neuro Transitional Center provides a unique, comfortable environment designed to feel like home. It gives patients with physical, behavioral and cognitive impairments access to comprehensive therapy in multiple settings. Part time/Per Diem positions are eligible for 401k based on reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year. </li><li>Your Impact Matters: Join a team of over 44,000 committed to providing exceptional patient care </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the NTR, and the profession. Responsible for provision of therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload. Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides NTR wide leisure, social and divergent programs. Serves as an educator to patients on community resources.</p> <ul> <li>Orients all new admissions to the therapeutic recreational services, activities and programs. Provides information in both written and verbal formats with respect to leisure activities, daily schedule, community resources, safety and spiritual resources </li><li>Actively participates in team conferences and family conferences, collaborating with the transdisciplinary team to identify, plan and educate on the following: patient strengths and impairments, creative solutions to overcome barriers, patient progress, and any changes to the expected outcomes. Receives feedback from family regarding goals, progress and meaningfulness. </li><li>Works with patients to promote and develop new skills and interests and to adapt previous interests. Is effectively able to assess the usefulness of therapeutic techniques and practices and modify or adapts accordingly. Provides therapeutic and innovative activities to insure positive patient outcomes. </li><li>Demonstrates flexibility in schedule to accommodate patient requests and interests. Communicates schedule to supervisor, patient and NTR personnel and carries full patient caseload, ensuring management of patient schedule </li><li>Completes medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate and timely manner in compliance with state & federal guidelines and in accordance with the NTR's policies and procedures. Develops comprehensive goals for patient treatment to maximize patient outcomes, as needed. </li><li>Actively participates in patient and professional advocacy efforts that may include, lobbying activities, health fairs, community level events, professional memberships, fundraising / charitable activities </li><li>Performs other duties as requested. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required </li><li>Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required. State Licensure as required. </li><li>Valid state Driver's License. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>One or more years of clinical neuro rehabilitation experience working with individuals with ABI or SCI preferred. </li></ul> <p>Additional Data</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer/including Disabled/Veterans</p>
